U20 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Greece recovered from the tough loss on Day Two with a 78-63 win over Turkey on the third and final day of Preliminary Round Group C action.
The two teams secured their spot in the Qualifying Round already before the tip-off but fought for the second spot in their group.
Eventually Greece had the top view with a 2-1 record while Turkey fell to 1-2 in the third spot.
Dimitrios Katsivelis was the top performer for Greece with 23 points and 10 rebounds, Andreas Kanonidis and Spyridon Motsenigos added 12 each and Linos Chrysikopoulos finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
Furkan Aldemir finished the night with 19 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks and Setac Sanli recorded 10 points.
Greece didn't leave much of a chance for Turkey right from the start by launching one missile after the other from the perimeter.
All the first seven shots of Greece from the three point line sank in, enough to create a 29-10 gap in less than 9 minutes.
Right before the first buzzer came the first long range miss of Greece, yet Turkey was already far behind.
Aldemir dominated the boards in his own unique style, but with Katsivelis in top form the chances of Turkey to change the face of the game were slim to none.
