France is the first team to finish the Preliminary Round of the U20 European Championship with a perfect record after a 79-46 victory over Latvia in Group B.

The walk in the park bestowed France a 3-0 record, while Latvia fell to 1-2, still good enough for a spot in the Qualifying Round.

France took the top spot in the group followed by Latvia, then Sweden in the 3rd spot and Croatia last.

Evan Fournier led France with 23 points and 4 steals followed by Joffrey Lauvergne with 14 points.

Martins Meiers had 13 points for the losing side and Edmunds Dukulis had 11.

The game was a race between Latvia and one French player - Evan Fournier.

The talented guard scored 15 points in the first five minutes of the game, and by then France held a 17-5 lead.

Latvia actually managed to combine no more than 15 points in the entire first half when France held a 38-15 gap by the end of the second quarter.

The French domination continued in the second half, though Fournier relaxed and added only eight points until the final buzzer, mostly for resting on the bench towards the next stages.

The big guys of France - Rudy Gobert and Lauvergne - added big dunks just before the final buzzer to celebrate their win in style.
